A troupe of chairs comes on, dances an arc past you and back, and carries on off the far side while the next lot is already walking on. Some of them are not quite right.
A steel tongue drum in B major, synthesized live in a large room. It plays one written phrase, and it is also the clock the chairs dance to. Level is the slider in the header.
Sets the pace of the music and of the dance together. It starts at the slowest it goes.
Listens through the microphone, finds the beat of whatever is playing near you, and dances the chairs to that. The band steps aside while it listens. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
Puts the beat being followed on screen, under the title, with the dot struck on every beat. It only appears while the room is being followed. Off, nothing is drawn or kept up for it.
How to play
Tap or press a key to shout at the chairs. Scroll to get closer. The seat never moves; the chairs come to you.
How many chairs come on at once. Set before the curtain goes up it applies at once; changed during the show it applies to the next troupe.
How long a troupe holds the stage. The next one walks on three bars before this one is gone, so the stage is handed over rather than emptied.
The share of a troupe that will not behave: one thrown into a new attitude on every beat and left there, one that never stops repositioning, one whipping around its own axes. At zero, where it starts, the whole troupe dances straight.
